WHEW…Big Apple Adventure was certainly that…an ADVENTURE! As Craft Queen, I get all the crafts in order, and decide which crafts will work for each day. I have 25 minutes to get a 100 kids in the door, explain and do a craft, and get them out on time. This year was highly successful!! We had less kids in Kindergarten than ever before, so we had plenty of time to help them out…and the crafts we chose were so great that I didn’t feel rushed at all! I had to re-build my whole team this year, but it all worked out and I had some AWESOME youth workers!!!
Here is a picture of my boy and his friend J who was visiting his grandparents and got to come. I used to work with his mom and I am so glad him and his sister got to visit!

And here are me and the boys…I don’t think we got a picture of all of us.

Hope you all enjoyed the Big Apple Adventure too!

BIG APPLE ADVENTURE!!!
Start spreadin’ the news…it’s time to get in the groove!!
I cannot wait till this summer when our church rolls out the Big Apple Adventure for Vacation Bible School. It’s going to be awesome. Of course…I say that every year, because it really is the most incredible week. I am the craft coordinator, or Craft Queen, as some may say.
I just enjoy crafts and believe the whole point is for them to take home a reminder of what they studied that day.
This past weekend I went to Nashville with 10 other people from our church…it was a less than 48 hour trip, but we managed to cram in a bunch of laughs, stories, and even some tears…all good though!
I have lots on my plate, but can’t wait to get started thinking and planning out a Big Apple Adventure for Crafts!

One of the greatest privileges I have in life is serving in Vacation Bible School. I absolutely LOVE it. And when I say LOVE, I mean, the heartfelt, totally obsessed and fully energized for the 5-day event. Although, being the person I am, I get a lovely passion for it, just as they (Lifeway) post what next year’s VBS will be.
2010 was titled Saddle Ridge Ranch and we lived it up working on the Ranch all week. I am the craft coordinator, so my days are filled with crayons, markers, paper, glue, stickers, and soooo much more than that. Craft packs throw up from a nearby storage room, where I house all the essentials we need to complete a week of VBS! It’s a fantastic feat at that, but it takes team after team, working seamlessly to pull off a VBS, complete with Craft/Missions/Recreation rotation, as well as two Worship Rallies, Snacks, and Music Rehearsal. It’s an awesome thing! We leave exhausted everyday, but the joy and smiles on the kids faces every morning, leave you wanting more.
Here is our family photo from a day at VBS. As you can see, even my sweet husband joined in the fun, and Boo and Peanut have grown A. L.O.T!
